The United Cup is a combined ATP/WTA tennis tournament that was played for the first time in January 2023 and replaced the men’s only ATP Cup that was held between 2020 and 2022.

The 2025 tournament will be played across two cities in Australia (Perth, and Sydney) and will be used to kick off the 2025 tennis season.

Dates

The 2025 United Cup tennis tournament will be held from the 27th of December 2024 to the 5th of January 2025.

It will be run in the same week as the tennis tournaments in Hong Kong, Brisbane, Canberra, and Auckland.

For the 2025 tournament, tickets are being sold through the official Tickettek website.

Countries

A total of 18 countries will play in 2025 with six qualifying based on the ranking of their no 1 player in the ATP ranking, six based on the ranking of their no 1 player in the WTA ranking, and six based on the best combined ranking of the countries female and male players.

Australia as the host country qualified automatically, regardless of the ranking of their top players, with the following countries participating in the 2025 tournament in Perth, and Sydney.

Players

The player list for 2025 has yet to be finalized but below is a selection of players that played in the United Cup in 2024.

Some big names that are not currently on the entry list include Rafael Nadal, Coco Gauff, Carlos Alcaraz, Emma Raducanu, Jannik Sinner, and Daniil Medvedev.

Format

The 18 countries will be split into six groups of three, with each group match consisting of two singles matches and a mixed doubles match.

The winner of each group will then advance to the semifinals along with the best second place team from the six groups.

The winners of the two semifinals will then play each other in the 2024 United Cup Final.

The draw for the 2024 tournament was made on the 23rd of October 2023 with the 18 countries being split into six groups of three, across the two host cities of Perth, and Sydney.

Unitec Cup Tennis Prize Money

The total prize money for the 2024 United Cup tennis tournament will be US$11,170,000 with the prize money paid to players being made up of a participation fee ($5,000 – $200,000) based on the player’s ranking, with additional prize money being paid out based on the performance of the player and their country at the tournament.

ATP and WTA Ranking Points

Players are able to earn up to 500 ranking points depending on their performance at the tournament.

The 2025 United Cup will be available to stream on the Tennis Channel (in the US), Sky Sports (Ireland and the UK), on TennisTV, or on WTATV.

The quarterfinals will be played in Perth and Sydney, while the semifinals and the final will be played in Sydney.
