The tournament has also received great stars from this sport, such as the old No. 1 of the Nadal world, which won the first edition of the tournament in 2014, in addition to signing the semifinals in 2015 and 2016.

“The first edition of a great tournament as a river, a very important city in the world, and after returning from the injury, always makes victory a little more special,” Nadal warned, after conquering the title in 2014.

In 2022, the Spanish sensation Alcaraz amounted to No. 1 of the PIF ATP Rankings, after being coroned in its first Grand Slam in the US Open. From there, I would go to Santiago to win the title, something that would also do in Geneva 2023.

In 2024, there was a record of 20 players from six different countries in South America in the painting, including Navone. The Argentine won his first victory in the tournament and advanced to the final, where he gave up to his compatriot Báez. At 23, Navone jumped to the highest position of his career as No. 29 of the PIF ATP Rankings only four months later.

Finally, is Fonseca’s story. The Brazilian of the #NextGenatp debuted in Rio two seasons ago, with 16 years. In his second participation in 2024, he reached the quarterfinals in the tournament he attended as a young fan every year. Fonseca has since won the Next Gen ATP Finals present by Pif, has defeated a Top 10 like Andrey Rublev at the Australian Open and raised its first ATP Tour crown in Buenos Aires. All eyes point to the local favorite in Rio.
