Will Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz renew their rivalry at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters?

Serbian and Spaniard could meet in the semifinals of the ATP Masters 1000 clay court after being placed in the same half of the draw this Friday. Djokovic leads Alcaraz 3-2 in Lexus ATP Head2Head history, winning his last duel at the Nitto ATP Finals last November.

The first Balkan seed, two-time champion in Monte Carlo, will debut against Roman Safiullin or a player from the qualifying phase. Noval could face Lorenzo Musetti in the third round. The Italian defeated Djokovic last season in The Principality. Musetti will start against the No. 13 seed Taylor Fritz, crossing in the second round with the French #NextGenATP Arthur Fils or Adrian Mannarino.

The current champion Andrey Rublev, who will debut against Alexei Popyrin or a qualifying tennis player, could meet Djokovic in the quarterfinals. Rublev would have No. 11 seed Alex de Minaur on his third-round horizon. The Australian will begin his path against the Swiss Stan Wawrinka, champion in 2014.

Third seed Carlos Alcaraz faces his second participation in Monte Carlo, after losing in the second round in 2022. The Spaniard, who has lifted seven trophies on clay, will debut against Felix Auger-Aliassime or a qualifying player. Carlos could face Ugo Humbert in the third round and Casper Ruud in the quarterfinals.

At the bottom of the draw, Jannik Sinner will try to extend his impressive form in search of the fourth title of the season. The Italian, who is 22-1 on the year, will start against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina or Sebastian Korda. Sinner could meet No. 16 seed Alexander Bublik in the third round and defending runner-up Holger Rune in the quarterfinals. Rune will start the road against Matteo Arnaldi or Emil Ruusuvuori.

Fourth seed Daniil Medvedev and fifth seed Alexander Zverev are potential semifinal opponents for Sinner. Medvedev will face Jordan Thompson or French wild card Gael Monfils in the second round, while Zverev would debut against Daniel Evans or Sebastian Ofner.

Two-time champion Stefanos Tsitsipas is seeded No. 12 and will debut against Laslo Djere. Other notable first-round matchups include Hubert Hurkacz vs. Jack Draper and Grigor Dimitrov vs. Valentin Vacherot.
