As anticipation grows with the Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF 2024, some of the participants in the tournament that brings together the best U-20s in the world took to the court this Sunday to train.
This was the case of Luca Van Assche who trained with the Spanish reserve MartÃn Landaluce at the King Abdullah Sports City, to prepare for his second adventure in Jeddah. The Frenchman, currently at No. 128 in the PIF ATP Rankings, reached the semifinals in 2023 and in this edition will act as the No. 6 seed.
For his part, Joao Fonseca is one of the five debutants in the Jeddah team this year. The 18-year-old Brazilian, who is the first player to qualify from his country since the tournament opened in 2017, trained alongside fellow Spaniard Rafael Jodar. Jakub Mensik and Shang Juncheng followed Fonseca in training among the Top 50 in the world, while Nishesh Basavareddy would take to the court later, again, with Jodar.
