Nick Kyrgios will not participate in the 2024 Australian Open.

At 28 years old, he will not be part of the entry list for the first Grand Slam of the season. This Friday he confirmed that he will miss the event at the Aussie major for the second consecutive year.

The only match Kyrgios played in 2023 was in Stuttgart, where he lost in two sets to Wu Yibing.

“It is very disappointing for me, but I will not be able to compete at the 2024 Australian Open,” Kyrgios noted on his social media accounts.

“Obviously, it breaks my heart. “I have great memories there, and I just want to play at the highest level again and do well, I need more time,” added the Australian.

In 2022, he enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career. Kyrgios reached the final at Wimbledon and won the Australian Open in doubles with his great friend Thanasi Kokkinakis. His career that year was reflected in the Netflix series Break Point.
