The morning after being crowned with his second title at the Australia Open, Jannik Sinner went with the Norman Brooke Challenge Cup (the tournament trophy) to Albert Prak Lake, where he talked about the difference of this victory with respect to last year.

“The first was more a kind of relief. It is different. It gives you the confidence that you can do it if you play great tennis, ”Sinner told the media present. “The second, this one, you may enjoy it a little more because it is different. But every Grand Slam, or every tournament you earn, or you get far away, has its own history. You have to go through difficulties, as I had this year here and this does very, very special. ”

No. 1 of the PIF ATP Rankings has won three of the last five Grand Slam at play and this Sunday became the first man from Rafael Nadal in Roland Garros 2006 in successfully defending his first Grand Slam title.

“It means a lot to me,” said the Italian. “We have put a lot of work. It means a lot to have it for the second time with me and the support has been incredible since the beginning of the tournament. ”

It All Adds Up

Sinner said he will leave Australia this Monday night. The 23 -year -old Italian gets incredible memories of Melbourne, especially for the support received.

“The public has been incredible since the beginning of the tournament, sincerely,” he said. “Also the previous week, I had a lot of support. That is perhaps what most means for me. ”
