The dream of reaching the main draw at Wimbledon is now a reality. This Wednesday the second round of the qualifying phase was completed at the Community Sport Center in Roehampton, where the 16 places that give access to the main draw of the third Grand Slam of the season are up for grabs. Competing on the grass of the All England Tennis Club is now one step away for the applicants, who this Thursday will face one of the most exciting days of the year.

The Chilean Cristian Garín was one of the great protagonists of the day, defeating his compatriot Tomás Barrios Vera 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 to stay alive in the British capital. The former No. 17 in the PIF ATP Rankings, a Wimbledon quarterfinalist in 2022, is one of the most experienced profiles in the classification table. Garín will play the last round against the Kazakh Timofey Skatov, winner 7-6(8), 7-6(5) over the Slovakian Lukas Klein.

The Colombian Daniel Elahi Galán also added, he was one step away from the final draw after resisting the Canadian Gabriel Diallo 6-4, 7-6(5).
