Local favorite Jannik Sinner will play the first singles match of the Nitto ATP Finals on Sunday afternoon at the Pala Alpitour in Turin. The fourth seed will face Stefanos Tsitsipas before six-time season-ending champion Novak Djokovic faces eighth seed Holger Rune in the evening session.
Tsitsipas leads his Lexus ATP Head2Head series with Sinner 5-2. The pair have split both matches this season, with Tsitsipas winning in five sets at the Australian Open and Sinner retaliating in straight sets a month later in Rotterdam.
Djokovic will play Rune just two weeks after the memorable quarterfinal match between the two at the Rolex Paris Masters. The World No. 1 emerged victorious after two hours and 55 minutes en route to capturing the title in the final ATP Masters 1000 event of the season. None of the four rivalry matches have ended in straight sets (the series is 2-2).
In doubles action, top seeds Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek will face seventh seeds, Argentines Máximo González and Andrés Molteni, in the afternoon. While the fourth favorites, the Mexican Santiago González and the Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin, will play in the evening against the fifth favorites, the Spanish Marcel Granollers and the Argentine Horacio Zeballos.
