Is this a season in which new faces are classified for the Nitto ATP Finals?

PIF ATP Live Race To Turin (Updated on April 2)

Draper has had his best start of the season, after demonstrating his good state in February when he reached the final of the ATP 500 tournament in Doha, where he eliminated Matteo Berrettini and Jiri Leheckka. That was just the beginning.

The 23 -year -old British demonstrated how dangerous his powerful left -handed game is to win his first ATP Masters 1000 title in Indian Wells. Draper, who only lost a set to the trophy in the desert, where he beat Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals, is only behind Jannik Sinner and the runner -up in Melbourne, Alexander Zverev, in the live race.

After Draper’s triumph at the BNP Paribas Open, the left -handed traveled to Miami for the second stage of the sun’s double. His first opponent in southern Florida was nothing less than Mensik. Mesik, 19, defeated Draper and got on his own success to win his first Masters 1000 title.

Draper will try to become the first British player to compete in the Nitto ATP Finals from Cameron Norrie, who did it as a substitute in 2021. Norrie also came out victorious in Indian Wells that year.

It All Adds Up

While Draper was among the 15 best in the world when he reached glory at Masters 1000, Mesik was out of the top 50 when he raised the trophy in Miami. The competitor of the latest Next Gen ATP Finals presented by Pif will try to make the leap to Turin a year later.

The Czech, whose best victory streak in the circuit when arriving in Miami was two, is now sixth in the live race. Mesik, 19, will try to become the first Czech to qualify for the season end tournament from Tomas Berdych in 2015.

Another player who seeks to debut is Shelton, eighth classified, semifinalist of the Australia Open and Froadholder in Indian Wells. The left -handed left -hander is also the American best classified in the race to Turin.

Between Draper and Mesik are Novak Djokovic and Alcaraz. Djokovic, who fell to Messik in the Miami final, holds the record of seven titles in the Nitto ATP Finals. The Serbian, fourth classified, has competed in the event 17 times and also eliminated Alcaraz on the way to the semifinals of the Australian Open.

Alcaraz, fifth classified, tries to qualify for the fourth consecutive season. The Spanish won his first Hard track title cover this year in Róterdam.

Félix Auger-Aliassime is the only player with two trophies this season, with triumphs in Adelaida and Montpellier. With a seasonal record of 17-7 according to the index of victories/ATP losses of Infosys, the Canadian occupies the seventh place in the race to Turin. It also reached the final of ATP 500 in Dubai.

Álex de Miñaur and Taylor Fritz complete the Top 10, closely followed by Holger Rune and Tommy Paul.
