Dimitrov continues his magic in Paris and completes the quarterfinals in each Grand Slam

The Bulgarian beat Hurkacz for the sixth time and advances to the quarterfinals in Paris for the first time

Grigor Dimitrov still has a lot to give on the Tour and, at 33, the No. 10 seed at Roland Garros has earned his first time in the last eight in Paris after surprising Hubert Hurkacz 7-6 (5), 6 -4 and 7-6 (3) after two hours and 51 minutes of play.

Thus, in his 14th consecutive appearance in Paris and signing 38 winning shots and varying the game with his fearsome slice, Dimitrov became strong in the relevant moments of the match to achieve a new milestone in his career: completing the quarter-final poker in all four Grand Slams, and is the first Bulgarian quarter-finalist in men’s singles in the history of the tournament.

Only a few doubts were raised when Dimitrov lost the break of the lead in the final set, going from leading 3-1 to losing three consecutive games in the hands of the Pole. However, the definition was stretched until a tiebreaker in the third round where Dimitrov once again showed his solidity.

In fact, the third round of 16 at Roland Garros was the winner for the Bulgarian, who joined Djokovic, Nadal, Murray, Cilic and Medvedev as the only active players to reach the quarterfinals of all Grand Slams and events. ATP Masters 1000.

Meanwhile, Dimitrov reached his 7th Grand Slam quarterfinal, and first since the 2021 Australian Open, to stretch the Lexus ATP Head2Head against the Pole 6-0. Now, Dimitrov will have the objective of seeking to reach the semifinals against the winner of Jannik Sinner and Corentin Moutet.
