The ATP has announced a record $28.5M prize pool on the ATP Challenger Tour for the 2025 season – an annual increase of $6.2M and 135% from 2022. These increases are the result of major reforms in the Challenger Tour under the guidance of OneVision, ATP’s long-term strategic plan that seeks to expand the number of players capable of making a living from tennis.
A fundamental piece in the increase in prizes has been the formation of Tennis Data Innovations (TDI) and the successful commercialization of the rights to the Challenger Tour. Improvements to the calendar have contributed to growth, through the introduction of Challenger 175 tournaments and an increased number of Challenger 100 and 125 category events.
With OneVision, ATP has implemented a dedicated Challenger Tour team with new leadership reviewing growth and new profit opportunities. Major investments in marketing, including the launch of the Challenger Tour’s ‘On The Rise’ campaign, have played an important role in improving the tour’s visibility and commercial appeal.
Andrea Gaudenzi, ATP President: “Creating a sustainable path to the ATP Tour is vital for the future of our sport. Since 2022 we have invested in major reforms to the Challenger Tour. The results have been clear: a record prize pool, annual increases and, above everything, more players in the Top 250 with better financial compensation at this level.
