Andrey Rublev has regained strength in the upper area of the ATP Tour, conquering this Saturday in the Qatar Exxonmobil Open of Doha the 17th title of his career. With an impeccable week of offensive tennis, the World Cup No. 10 has recovered five years later the throne of the Emirate, underlining his figure as a candidate for the great calendar tournaments.
The fifth head of the series had to keep the coldness by competing for the cup, overcoming an intense crossing of blows (7-5, 5-7, 6-1) before the British Jack Draper to dress as a champion. Before a left -hander who questioned his domain in the final, breaking his rhythm of play with surprising patterns, Rublev exhibited an immense capacity for suffering. Andrey responded at the key moment of the game with order in each blow, accelerating in the decisive sleeve until catching the trophy.
“The feeling is incredible,” Rublev said. “It was my first title and now I’ve won twice. I feel very happy. I think we were both tired after playing games to three sets that ended very late. We were fatigued and it has been difficult but, somehow, we have managed to play at a good level. When I lost the second set I have freed myself and started playing more loose. ”
“I played a good tennis. In some moments I have noticed very well mentally, I have not been carried away by frustration. When I had that feeling, I have immediately managed to activate and I could maintain the same intensity. That is the most important thing. ”
Rublev has completed a week of great battles in Doha, surviving in the final sleeve in the last three rounds of the tournament. After saving a game point in the quarterfinals against Alex de Miñaur and raffling a decisive tiebreaker in the semifinals against Felix Auger-Aliassime, the world No. 10 laid the foundations for resisting any obstacle until catching the trophy.
Draper was one step away from catching his third individual title at the tour level and is left with a 2-3 balance in ATP Tour finals. The British, after reaching his most important end in the outdoor track, will rise on Monday to the highest position of his career as No. 12 of the PIF ATP Rankings. The left -handed will play next week the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships with the opportunity to enter for the first time in the world top 10.
“It has been a fabulous week,” Draper said. “Andrey has played incredible today. We both played very hard matches this week and in the third set it has been too strong for me. I feel very proud of my effort this week. Every day I got up to try to improve, that shows my commitment to Hard work. “

Andrey Rublev has become the seventh player capable of lifting multiple individual trophies in the Qatar Exxonmobil Open of Doha.
