Sinner repeats as Fan Favorite at the 2024 ATP Awards
The world No. 1 led the circuit with 8 titles

Jannik Sinner’s popularity goes far beyond his followers Carota Boys. For the second consecutive year, the Italian, the first player from his country to reach No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings, has been chosen as the Fans’ Favorite tennis player at the ATP Awards.
“I want to thank the fans around the world who voted for me,” said Sinner, after completing the most successful season of his career. “It means a lot to me because the votes come from all of you. You are the reason I love playing tennis. The support has been incredible throughout this entire season.”

Sinner opened 2024 with a streak of 16 consecutive victories, a period in which he captured his first Grand Slam title in Melbourne, becoming the first Italian of the Open Era to win the singles title at the Australian Open. Jannik led the circuit with eight titles, including his second major at the US Open, three ATP Masters 1000 (Miami, Cincinnati, Shanghai) and the Nitto ATP Finals. He closed the season by revalidating the Davis Cup title with Italy, securing the decisive point 7-6(2), 6-2 over Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor last month in Malaga.
Sinner is the 19th player to hold the No. 1 at the end of the year and is only the third man in the Open Era to win his first two Grand Slam titles in the same season, an unprecedented milestone since Argentine Guillermo Vilas achieved it. in 1977. Throughout 79 matches (73-6), Sinner never lost a match in straight sets, emulating a record by Roger Federer – 19 times winner of the Fan Favorite award. Sinner and Federer are the only players to have achieved this feat (playing at least 20 matches) in the Open Era.
Sinner continues to accumulate recognition at the ATP Awards. The Italian was named Newcomer of the Year in 2019 and last season he took home the awards in the Most Improved of the Year and Fan Favorite categories.
