Real Madrid visited the Son Moix stadium in Mallorca on Sunday to face the first day of La Liga 2024-2025 and, in the box, the star of the ATP Tour, Rafael Nadal, was present.
The Spaniard witnessed the home team draw 1-1 with the reigning European Super Cup champions to open the season. Before leaving, Nadal had a very special meeting with one of Real Madrid’s stars.
In one of the stadium’s tunnels he met Kylian Mbappé, who after greeting the 22-time Grand Slam champion warmly gave him his shirt.
Nadal, who is still preparing in Mallorca for his next match in Berlin to play the Laver Cup from 20 to 22 September, recently announced his withdrawal from the US Open.
“Thank you to all my American fans in particular, I will miss you all and see you another time. Best of luck to everyone at the always amazing US Open! My next event will be the Laver Cup in Berlin,” the four-time champion said in a statement in New York.
