Opelka surprises Medvedev and goes for more in ‘S-HertoGenbosch

Diallo will measure Humbert in the semifinals of the ATP 250 event on grass

Tennis usually gives new opportunities every week, and from time to time, also in the same event … what if Reilly Opelka can attest, who as Lucky Loser advanced Friday at the Libma Open of ‘S-Hertogenbosch, where he defeated the first series Daniil Medvedev 7-6 (5) and 7-6 (5) to reach the semifinals.

Meanwhile, Opelka was not the only surprise of the day at’s at’s-HertoGenbosch. The Canadian Gabriel Diallo went down to the third series head, Karen Khachanov, 7-6 (6) and 6-4, to achieve his second semifinal in the ATP Tour. The 23 -year -old Canadian, who has uploaded seven positions to number 48 at the PIF Live ATP Ranking and defeated Francisco closing it in Roland Garros, will debut on Monday in the top 50.

Before this week, Diallo had not yet achieved any victory in Pasto at a professional level, but since then he has demonstrated his value on this surface. He saved two party points to defeat the two-time finalist of ‘S-HertoGenbosch, Jordan Thompson, and released 19 aces during his one-hour victory and 52 minutes against Khachanov.

In search of a position in its second final of ATP Tour (Almath 2024), Diallo will face the second series, Ugo Humbert, who defeated Nuno Borges 6-1 and 6-4 in just 67 minutes. The Frenchman did not face any break, according to Infosys ATP Stats.
