Rafael Nadal and Casper Ruud will not be taking to Centre Court at the Nordea Open this Saturday to contest the doubles semi-finals at the ATP 250 in Bastad.

The Spaniard, who had also qualified for the semi-finals in the individual event, will not repeat the session with the Norwegian, meaning that Brazilians Orlando Luz and Rafael Matos will advance to the final.

This Sunday, Luz and Matos will fight for the crown of champions in the pairs event against the French Manuel Guinard and Gregoire Jacq, who beat Gonzalo Escobar and Aleksandr Nedovyesov by 6-3, 6-4.

Nadal and Ruud received a wild card to play doubles in Bastad and racked up two wins during the week against No. 2 seeds Guido Andreozzi and Miguel Reyes Varela, as well as Theo Arribage and Roman Safiullin in the quarterfinals.

Nadal plans to compete in doubles at the 2024 Paris Olympics alongside his compatriot Carlos Alcaraz, with whom he is seeking to win his third gold medal, after those won in the singles at Beijing 2008 and the doubles at Rio 2016 with Marc López.
