The top title of the week at the Hamburg Open went to reigning champions Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz after beating Fabien Reboul and Edouard Roger-Vasselin 7-6(8), 6-2 in the final on Sunday.

The Germans left the trophy at home, one year after opening their team record at the Rothenbaum Stadium in Hamburg on the clay courts of this ATP 500 tournament.

The pair made the transition to clay after having completed a remarkable tour on grass with a final at the ATP 500 in Halle (l. to Bolelli/Vavassori) and the quarter-finals at Wimbledon (l. to Granollers/Zeballos).

Krawietz celebrated his 10th career ATP Tour title – his second alongside his current partner – while Puetz claimed his ninth crown.

With the 500 points earned in Hamburg, the German pair rise to No. 6 in the PIF ATP Doubles Team Rankings, which at this stage of the season would place them virtually qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin.

GSTAAD
Bhambri and Olivetti win the doubles
In the doubles category, the title at the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad went to the third seeds in Gstaad. Yuki Bhambri and Albano Olivetti overcame the French pairs Ugo Humbert and Fabrice Martin in the final by winning 6-3, 3-6, 10-6 in 66 minutes.

For the Indian player, this is the third title of his career in doubles, the second this season with Oliveti. He and the Frenchman also won on clay at the ATP 250 in Marrakech.

Olivetti, meanwhile, has two crowns to his name, which he shares with Bhambri this season, and after Sunday’s title they are ranked No. 24 in the PIF ATP Doubles Team Rankings.

BASTAD
Luz and Matos take advantage of their opportunity
Orlando Luz and Rafael Matos did not need to play the semi-final of the Nordea Open on Saturday to advance to the final round in Bastad, as Rafael Nadal and Casper Ruud announced their withdrawal from the tournament in the doubles category.

The Brazilians, who started as No. 3 favorites on the Swedish clay, defeated Frenchmen Manuel Guinard and Gregoire Jacq 7-5, 6-4 in the title match in one hour and 30 minutes.

It is their first crown together, the ninth for Matos – the third of the season with three different partners (Nicolás Barrientos, Marcelo Melo and Luz) – while Luz opened her showcase.

NEWPORT
Goransson and Verbeek do not let themselves be surprised
No. 6 seeds Andre Goransson and Sem Verbeek have claimed the doubles title at the Infosys Hall of Fame Open in Newport, the ATP 250 tournament that closes the grass-court season.

The Swede and the Dutchman were not surprised in the final by local guests Robert Cash and James Tracy, taking the title 6-3, 6-4.
