Jannik Sinner never lost control of this season on the ATP Tour. There’s a reason he finished as the leader, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index, on three of four different surfaces.
The Italian won seven of his eight tour titles on hard courts this year and posted a 53-3 (94.6 percent) record on the surface. Two of those losses were against rival Carlos Alcaraz, who finished second in winning percentage on hard courts. Zverev’s 40 hard-court wins were the second-best of the season, behind Sinner’s 53.

Sinner closed his season by triumphing at the Nitto ATP Finals, where he capped a perfect year on indoor hard courts. The 23-year-old went 13-0 on indoor hard courts after lifting the trophy in Rotterdam and Turin.
Karen Khachanov and Tommy Paul also captured titles on indoor hard courts, finishing in the top three on that surface on the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index. Khachanov, 28, racked up the most wins on indoor hard courts (14).

Sinner had nine victories on grass, one more than Wimbledon champion Alcaraz (8). Lorenzo Musetti recorded the most victories on this type of tracks (12).
