In this article, I will look at the racket specs of the Babolat Pure Aero and Dunlop SX 300 to see how these two tennis rackets compare.

For this comparison, I have used the technical specifications of the SX 300 (2022) and Pure Aero (2023) tennis rackets.

Racket Specs Comparison – SX 300 vs Pure Aero

Main Differences: The only real difference in terms of specs is their frame stiffness ratings with the SX 300 having a higher stiffness rating (68 vs 65) than the Pure Aero.

Similarities: Both rackets have the same head size (100in), racket length (27in), string pattern (16×19), balance (4 pts HL), strung weight (318g), swing weight (322), and beam width (23mm / 26mm / 23mm).

See below for a short video comparing the racket specs of the SX 300 and Pure Aero.

Pros and Cons

The SX 300 has good topspin and power which works well from the baseline and is relatively arm friendly for a racket of this type but it lacks touch and feel at the net.

The Pure Aero 2023 has a nice design and offers plenty of spin with good maneuverability but beginner to intermediate players may find the racket is too low powered.

Head to Head

In my opinion, the SX 300 is slightly worse in terms of power, control, spin, and comfort but both of these rackets have very similar specs, so the differences aren’t going to be huge.

Player Recommendations

These rackets are ideal for intermediate to advanced tennis players as they offer a nice balance between control, spin, and power, but some high level players may find that they lack a little control.

Pro Player Endorsements

The SX 300 is currently endorsed by Michael Mmoh and Miomir Kecmanovic, while the Pure Aero is endorsed by the following pro tennis players: Rafael Nadal, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Holger Rune, Danielle Collins, and Leylah Fernandez.

Where can you buy these rackets?

The rackets are for sale in most good online tennis shops and through the Dunlop and Babolat websites.
