Alex de Minaur continues to become one of the biggest names on the ATP Tour. The Australian lifted the first grass trophy of his career this Sunday, the ninth that already rests on his record, proclaiming himself champion at the Libema Open in ‘s-Hertogenbosch to underline his growing versatility.

The No. 9 in the PIF ATP Rankings defeated the American Sebastian Korda 6-2, 6-4 in a high-intensity final, where he imposed the speed of his legs on a surface that leaves no room for doubt. “This title gives me the best position of my career, that is always a small bonus,” acknowledged De Minaur, who will climb to world No. 7 this Monday. “My first week on grass couldn’t have been more positive, I’m looking forward to competing at Queen’s and the entire grass tour with a smile on my face. I’m happy to have been able to add a victory in the Netherlands.”

The Australian has a record of 33-11 on the season. After successfully defending his ATP 500 title in Acapulco in February, it is the third year in which he has managed to lift multiple ATP Tour trophies in the same season.
