Carlos Alcaraz expanded his advantage in the PIF ATP Live Race to Turin after winning the title of Roland Garros this Sunday. The Gesta also launches into Spanish in the battle for the ATP Year-End No. 1 Presented by PIF in the second half of the season.
Alcaraz arrived at the Grand Slam of beaten with an advantage of 1,090 points over the second classified Jannik Sinner, the Italian he faced in the final. The Spanish raised three championship points before raising the Musketeer Cup, a milestone that could be key in the fight for No. 1 at the end of the year.
PIF ATP Live Race To Turin (tras Roland Garros)
Player | Points |
1) Carlos Alcaraz | 5.740 |
2) Jannik Sinner | 3.950 |
3) Alexander Zverev | 2.925 |
4) Jack Draper | 2.690 |
5) Lorenzo Musetti | 2.600 |
6) Novak Djokovic | 2.580 |
7) Casper Ruud | 2.075 |
8) Tommy Paul | 1.900 |
If Jannik had turned one of his opportunities, the classification would be totally different. With a defeat, Alcaraz would only have 5,040 points for the 4,650 of SINNER, reducing the distance between them to just 390 points.
Instead, Alcaraz has built an important advantage before the grass tour. But things could quickly change in the ATP Tour. Sinner, who has won 47 of his last 50 games according to the Infosys ATP Victorias/losses index, can cut land before his maximum rival, which now dominates 8-4 the history Lexus ATP Head2head between them.
With a good stretch of the season to play, the fans will follow the steps of Alcaraz, ATP Year-End No. 1 present by Pif in 2022, and Sinner, capable of receiving that honor last season, in the fight for the top. The Live Race is the classification of the year and serves to accurately measure the players’ options in the search for No. 1 at the end of the season.
Alcaraz and Sinner have great options to classify the Nitto ATP Finals. Just 1,025 points separate No. 3 Alexander Zverev (2,925 points) – Twice champion of the course brooch tournament – and No. 8 Tommy Paul (1,900).
No. 4 Jack Draper (2,690), No. 5 Lorenzo Musetti (2,600) and Paul seek to classify the Nitto ATP Finals for the first time. Other players who pursue debut in Turin – No. 11 Ben Shelton (1,710), No. 12 Jakub Mensik (1,680), No. 13 Francisco Cerúando (1,675) and No. 14 Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (1,470) – will try to approach the direct access position during the grass season.
The Nitto ATP Finals of this season will take place from November 9 to 16 at the INALPI Arena.
