Carlos Alcaraz will return to the competition on Tuesday at ABN Amro Open. After opening his 2025 season playing the Australian Open, where he fell in the quarterfinals against Novak Djokovic, the Spanish will play his second event of the course at the ATP 500 of the Dutch city.
The four -year -old Grand Slam titles champion will seek since Tuesday the seventeenth ATP Tour title of his career on the hard -roofing track accompanied by coach Samuel López, who since the last preseason has become part of the team of Alcaraz officially.
Alcaraz will premiere against Botic Van de Zandschulp. Although his series Lexus ATP Head2head dominates 2-1, the Span of the season, held in New York.
“The last time I lost against him,” recalled the Murcia. “Now I’m going to play at home. The public is probably against me, but I will enjoy and give my best playing my first meeting at Róterdam. ”
Destiny has also wanted Alcaraz to face the last rival Rafael Nadal had in his professional career. It was in the Davis Cup finals, when they go from Zandschulp beat the Mallorcan in the quarterfinal tie between Spain and the Netherlands.
Alcaraz, who is the main standard head after the casualty of Jannik Sinner, has very dangerous rivals such as Felix Auger-Aliassime, Holger Rune or Andrey Rublev. The Canadian, without going any further, comes from getting his second 2025 title in the Open Occitanie de Montpellier, so it would be a height challenge for Alcaraz in case of crossing in a hypothetical second round of the event.
After Róterdam, the Spanish will then travel to Doha to play for the first time the Qatar Exxonmobil Open.
