Alejandro Davidovich Fokina has monopolized many looks at this start of the season ATP Tour 2025.

After not being able to take advantage of party points in the Ray Beach final, the 25 -year -old Spanish responded with one more final in Acapulco and another semifinal in Montecarlo. At a time when his career attracts more attention than ever, Davidovich spoke with atptour.com in the internal bnl d’Italia to convey calm and leisure.

“It’s always pretty to return to Rome,” said the Spaniard, who undertook last January in the Italian capital. “It feels at home … The best friends and family of my fiancee are from here. It is always a pleasure to return here to the Italic forum and play with the Italian public.”

It All Adds Up

After promoting 42 positions until No. 26 of the PIF ATP Rankings this season, Davidovich has offered high quality tennis, highlighting the two consecutive finals on a hard track and a great start of the land on earth. With her fiancee, Paloma Amatiste, she moved to Monaco last June and the changes outside the track seem to have had an impact on her tennis.

But Davidovich claims to have his feet on the floor and now he is picking up the fruits.

“The fun thing is that everything started here,” said the Spanish. “A year ago, I moved to Monaco and everything changed. Leaving my comfort zone was a hard decision but I am happy.”

“The last six months have not been easy, but they have given me a lot of energy and vision out of the track. I know that I have more potential to demonstrate and he is going very well this season,” he added.

His passing forward has been led in part by his coach Felix Mantilla, former 10 of the world who conquered 10 titles during his career. Interestingly, the last one was at the ATP Masters 1000 Italian, and in this edition he will try to convey his experience in Rome to his pupil.

“His experience as ancient Top 10 is another level,” Davidovich said about Mantilla. “Maybe he doesn’t see things he already did in the past. Outside the track, he can advise me to handle things. It’s very quiet and that’s what he needed.”

Classified as No. 13 of the PIF ATP Live Race to Turin, Davidovich is among the candidates to be released in the Nitto ATP Finals. Still, do not release the bells on the fly.

“The season is very long, there are many points until the end of the year,” the Andalusian valued. “Now I am focused on each tournament, on being in the top 20 of the Race. It is clear that if I go better, but I do not think about that at the end of the year.”

Beyond looking at the season end tournament or not, you have the weapons that could take it there. In addition to his physical condition, at 25 he is one of the most versatile players in the circuit.

“I think I am a boy who can adapt to all surfaces. I need one or two days to adapt, but in the end I am playing well in all,” said Davidovich. “I am very happy for how my game can adapt so fast.”

Davidovich Fokina has already achieved three victories this season against rivals Top 10. He beat Taylor Fritz, who was the main favorite in Delray Beach, also Jack Draper in Montecarlo and Andrey Rublev in Barcelona. All in two sets. He was even close to adding a fourth triumph two weeks ago in Madrid, but the Spaniard ended up yielding to Alexander Zverev in fourth round 6-2, 6-7 (3), 6-7 (0).

“They are always hard battles with Zverev,” Davidovich recalled that he has a 1-5 lexus atp head2head against German. “But there were two details that I could have won the game.”

“It is a process. I did not play the Tie-Break well and I did not know how to handle that tie-break, but it is the process. After the game, we understood many things and that Tie-Break was helpful because surely it will not happen again,” he acknowledged.

Davidovich Fokina wants to take his way in Rome, where he has a record of victories and defeats of 4-5 according to the index of victories and defeats Infosys ATP. The Lucky Loser Jesper of Jong will be measured this Saturday and the faces could be seen in the third round with the world No. 1 and local favorite Jannik Sinner.
