Novak Djokovic closed the season ATP Tour 2023 winning a historic seventh title in the Nitto ATP Finals and celebrating the beginning of its 400th week as No. 1 of the PIF ATP Rankings. Roger Federer had previously held both records, with six trophies in the season brooch and a total of 310 weeks in the World Cup No. 1.

On April 7, 2024, during its 419th week at the top, the Serbian caught another of the legendary marks of the Swiss. That day, Novak happened to Roger as No. 1 more veteran in the history of the PIF ATP Rankings at 36 years and 321 days. Djokovic extended that record until 37 years and 16 days when holding the first position until June.

An indelible test of the longevity and talent of Djokovic, this record remarks the meticulous dedication of the Serbian to conserve a great physical state throughout his career. In addition to the work to improve his tennis and his form, Novak’s attention to mental and physical recovery has helped him get great successes around 40 years.

Even in his youth, Djokovic prioritized stretching to an extreme rarely seen in professional sport. In 2010, a gluten -free diet began. An impeccable professional in everything related to well -being, Djokovic has become a reference not only for his ability inside the track, but for his healthy habits outside of it.

Nearly 38 years old on May 22, Djokovic is still a firm member in the Top 10 of the PIF ATP Rankings. Since debuting at the Top 10 on March 19, 2007, Djokovic has barely left this elite group. It happened between November 2017 and July 2018, as a result of an injury in the right elbow that prevented him from competing in the second half of 2017. His lowest position during that period was the World No. 22.

Recently, the 10th Djokovic reign as No. 1 World Cup extended for 39 weeks, until Jannik Sinner managed to debut at the top on June 10, 2024. The 428 weeks of Djokovic on the throne are the record in the male and female professional tennis, ahead of the 377 weeks that Stefanie Graf established as a plusmarca in WTA.
