The Grand Prix Hassan II maintains the Italian accent one more season.
And this Sunday, Luciano Darderi inscribed his name at the ATP 250 of Marrakech, replacing his compatriot Matteo Berrettini in the palmarés. No. 57 of the PIF ATP Rankings surpassed the main favorite Tallon Griekspoor in 7-6 (3), 7-6 (4) in two hours and three minutes.
It is the second ATP Tour crown for Darderi, after last year its showcase inaugurated with the title at Córdoba Open, ATP 250 tournament that was also held on beaten land in Argentina.
“The last months were very difficult for me, but I fought every day to get to this moment,” Darderi acknowledged after the final. “It is my second title. My first time in Marrakech, it is an incredible place. I am very happy and I have to thank all the Italians who are already here all the people who are seeing. It is very nice to play with this environment.”
Darderi made reference in his speech to a complicated start of the season. And it is that the Italian landed in his first participation in Marrakech with a 2-8 record in 2025, although he began to give recovery symptoms last week when he presented himself in the final of the ATP Challenger Tour de Nepoles (Italy).

“Tallon is an incredible player. You never know what will happen,” Darderi said about his rival. “7-6, 7-6, it is a very hard marker. It was a very complicated game, but I am very happy.”
Nouza and Rikl stay the title of doubles
Petro Nouza and Patrik Rilk achieved their first ATP Tour crown in Marrakech.
The Czech couple put the brooch at a great week at the Grand Prix Hassan II, defeating the main favorites Hugo Nys and Edouard Roger-Vasselin 6-3, 6-4. Nouza and Rilk did not give up a set on their way to the title in the Moroccan beaten earth.
After their great result in the Marrakech final, 16 positions jump until No. 17 of the PIF ATP Live Double Rankings.
