‘Feet on the ground’ is a call to reflection for all citizens. Through the life of Alcaraz, a boy with a normal childhood, which allowed him to follow his path and pursue his dreams, the exhibition shows how, very close to everyone, there are many boys and girls who live adverse realities, encountering obstacles that slow down their development. and they condition the rest of their lives.

“I was just another child, raised in El Palmar, in an average family, who ran around the park with his friends, who went to school in his neighborhood, without luxuries,” said Carlos Alcaraz. “I had a passion for sport and in particular for tennis, but it was a very normal childhood. Today we are here, feeling very lucky and grateful and wanting to do our bit by moving for childhood.”

“The objective with this exhibition is to show a reality, that of a childhood that lives in very adverse conditions. A reality that seems invisible, distant, but that is very close to us. Raise awareness about it, about the importance of this stage of life,” said Beatriz Garfia, director of the foundation. “And how we, individually or collectively, have a lot to say, we have the capacity to influence. Every small gesture counts and can make a difference in the reality of boys and girls.”

After Alcaraz inaugurated the exhibition by cutting the ribbon, placed symbolically on a tennis net, the guests had the opportunity to enjoy a guided tour of the exhibition, led by the tennis player himself and his family.

‘Feet on the ground’ is designed for visitors of all ages and offers an interactive experience through videos, games and questions. It shows Alcaraz’s most notable titles, along with kits and other important objects from his career. In addition, it will have surprises from the tennis player displayed throughout the entire course.
