Máximo González and Andrés Molteni have exchanged all of their ATP Tour finals for trophies and this Sunday at the Rolex Shanghai Masters they will try to maintain their streak in their ninth title match as a team.

The Argentines defeated the pairing of Adam Pavlasek and Jean-Julien Rojer in the semifinals of the ATP Masters 1000 in Shanghai in a tight duel 4-6, 7-5, 10-8 in one hour and 39 minutes.

It is the second time this week that González and Molteni must resolve their victory in the super tie-break, as happened in their debut in the tournament against Hugo Nys and Jan Zielinski (7-6[4]4-6, 10-6). In the second round they advanced without playing against Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev (wo), while in the quarterfinals they were able to easily defeat the couple already qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals, the Italians Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori (6-4, 6 -4).

With 3 direct serves and 83% success with the points at stake with their first serve according to Infosys ATP statistics, the Argentines certified their presence in the ninth final of their career as a team. As a curiosity, they have won the previous eight they have played.

Since they played in the ATP 250 final in Gijón in 2022, González and Molteni have won each of the finals they reached: Córdoba 2023, Rio 2023, Barcelona 2023, Washington 2023, Cincinnati 2023, Córdoba 2024 and Barcelona 2024.
