Two-time Olympic gold medallist Murray bids farewell to Paris 2024

If there is one player who has maintained a special bond with the Olympic event, it is Andy Murray. The former No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings has won the gold medal in two of the last three editions and will bid farewell to the competition at Paris 2024.
The 37-year-old Briton won on home soil on Centre Court at Wimbledon against Roger Federer at the 2012 London Olympics, becoming the first player of his nationality to achieve this feat since 1908.
Four years later, he became the first player to repeat Olympic gold in two consecutive editions, achieving the same feat in Rio de Janeiro 2016. He then beat Argentine Juan Martín del Potro in the final.
After missing the individual event in Tokyo 2020, she will now return in Paris 2024 to compete in the last tournament of her award-winning sporting career.
“Landed in Paris for my final tennis tournament,” Murray wrote in a post on his official social media account alongside a photograph of himself wearing gold at the Rio Games.

“Competing for Great Britain has been the most memorable few weeks of my career so far and I am hugely proud to be doing it for the last time,” Murray added.
